Why You Should Watch Jubilee
Now more than ever, people should diminish their differences, opinions, and perceptions through the power of conversation and empathy. Rather than neglecting others' thoughts due to personal beliefs or sense of belonging to a particular group, creating discussion around subjects that usually spark negative debate on social media platforms may implement positive transitions to a better society altogether.
Although it seems like it should be our instinct to want to understand why people may oppose others' opinions, our society and the media has derived us into these divided groups that prefer to remain among their own "bubbles of information".
Jubilee, a social media platform, is on the verge of removing these stigmas through the power of bridging people together and inspiring love from compelling stories.
The company began its mission of creating shareable, human-centric videos back in 2010, when Founder/CEO Jason Y. Lee published a single video busking at a New York subway stop to raise money for charity. Since then, the company has changed its vision by creating weekly videos pertaining to a variety of topics - aiming to inspire people to live greater.
As mentioned above, Jubilee offers an array of videos with a wide range of topics being discussed. One of the series in particular that is a must-watch is their "Middle Ground" series. In this series, you can review videos on topical conversations wherein people are usually extremely divided such as Ivy League V.S. Community College students' perspectives, or the different viewpoints between Feminism & Men's Rights. There are likely a few conversations that have (or have had) an impact on your life, so be sure to review their entire playlist.
Some of the topics in this series can be viewed as more sensitive than others; you can tell from the participants' reactions and composure's from the beginning of these videos. However, as the discussions progress, the tight line that was once there becomes less intimidating. The differences and beliefs individuals from both sides of the spectrum are still relevant and identifiable, but you can tell that they are beginning to develop empathy for not only their counterparts, but for the entire group of people involved in the conversation.
Not only are these conversations meant to remove the harsh contradictions participants had beforehand, but it is also geared towards educating each viewer to insight that they may never had previously. With this in mind, I want you to think about something you strongly believe in. Now, go to Jubilee's page to find discussion/s relevant to your opinions, and see if you have a different perspective after watching the content provided.

It’s a simple goal, but one that’s had an awe-inspiring domino effect over time. People want to connect on a deeper level, challenge and empathize with one another, and share vulnerably; and they want to do it in an engaging way. Sometimes it feels like the world is becoming more divided, chaotic, and cluttered. But if I’ve learned anything in my time growing Jubilee, it’s this: we are all inextricably linked and want to live for something greater. Living for human good is a resilient vision, and one that is worthy of pursuit.
